At the lake

  • Oct. 5th, 2009 at 8:08 PM

Today I took Evie to Peace Valley Lake to get some fresh air. She loved being by the water. She was facinated by the ducks and sea gulls that would fly by. We took a walk along the path and came across a wooly bear caterpiller. No fear she sits right down and plays with it. It was a good day and we will return soon.

Here is little Miss E only a week old. She is a very serious little girl and had this thoughtful look the whole time. Oh and she must have known I was coming, check out her brand new belly button ! So adorable!

Cleaning went well and aside from andy bringing evie home for her afternoon nap I had a nice day by myself. Today I:
washed diapers
washed blankets
emptied, loaded, ran, emptied and loaded the dishwasher.
swept and mopped the floors
shook out the area rugs
cleaned up the counters
oiled the soapstone
re-potted my plants
hung up new plant hook
hung the charging station for my broom vac
washed the windowsills and radiators
organized my yarn/knitting
got rid of all the junk laying around
went to home depot
started my herbs and veggies in my indoor greenhouses
dusted

I still have laundry to fold and clutter to get rid of but it is past midnight and I am tired. I am going to pump and go to bed. At least evie can roll around on the floor to where ever her little heart desires and I dont have to worry about her picking up hairballs and eating them. She has been doing the i am not eating thing again and nursing for a few mins and then sits up. She will only eat a few oz from a bottle as well. She also has been refusing her sippy cup. she use to love it not she screams and pushes it away like it scares her. Very odd. Maybe she is about ready to hit another milestone or something. I wish she could talk and tell me what is wrong. Cat and uht oh really doesn't explain it lol.

So Andy took Evie to his parents house for the day. I AM ALONE!!!!! I plan to spend the day cleaning and doing things I cant normally get done with the munchkin. Hopefully I get to major clean everything today and then it wont be that hard to keep up with it. We seriously need a bigger place. To much stuff in too little of a space. Evie had her 9 month appointment this week. She turned 10 months monday but with the changing Doctors it was a bit before they could get her in. I was yelled at by the doctor because she is so small. She is only 16lbs 3oz which puts her at the 3rd percentile. Its not like she doesn't eat, my god thats all she does all day. On the boob every 2 hours like clock work and 3 solid meals. She will eat a whole banana or pear in one sitting. I hate that they seemed so accusatory like I wasn't feeding her. On an up note She as another tooth, one of the top middles that cut through. 2 more to go! She has been latching a bit weird, I am a bit sore. Her new favorite nursing position is either straddling me and bobbing from one boob to the other or in the mornings when we have breakfast in bed she will sit up and lean on my chest and nurse on the top. It is so cute. Andy just laughs at her. She also now thinks it is funny to play my boobs like they are bongos. I have started planning her Birthday party. We are doing a ladybug theme. So super cute. I am going to make cupcakes instead of a big cake. I found a giant cupcake pan for evies special cake so she can smash it. Well I guess I should start cleaning.

So Andy was pretty much told that he is going to lose his job in the next week or so. This so sucks, we are so screwed.

Evie has a double ear infection poor girl. Last Tuesday she was up all night screaming and crying. So I took her to the Dr and she had an infection in her left ear. This tuesday she broke out in a rash all over her tummy and diaper area. So apparently she is allergic to amoxacillian. So we stopped the meds and they didn't give her any more b/c yesterday her ear looked ok. Well last night she had a fever of 102.5 and today she wasn't wetting any diapees so I took her to the dr and well low and behold both ears are infected. I hope she feels better soon.

Something is not quite right with Evie and I can't put my finger on it. For the past week she has been either refusing the bottle or only eating like 2 or 3 oz. She normally guzzles it down and forgets to breath. She will however take the boob, in fact our nursing sessions have been a bit better/longer. She is still popping off every few seconds, sits up looks at the tv or around the room then pops back on to repeat. She will eat solids, in fact I can feed her 2 or 3 bowls of food and she still would eat and eat untill I cut her off. She has been touchy, clingy, whiny, and temper tantumy. She has also been a bit sleepy but not really sleeping like she should during nap time, but at night she sleeps fine with a fight going down. She has no feaver or anything. She has been spitting up alot again and having really hard poops. To make matters worse we are in the process of changing doctors from a GP to a Ped. I called the PEd today to make Evies 9 month well baby visit and they said they cant see her till march for a well baby visit. WTF?! She needs shot, her checkup and damn they should be able to get a new patient in to do a checkup in general and get familiar with her BEFORE she is sick. It is so stupid. I hate to take her to the ER for nothing but I would like her to get checked with all of the things going on lately. Andy suggested to transfer her files back to trivalley if they wont get her in at kids first. I also have been having these awful panic attacks that Evie is going to die of SIDS. I don't know why but I just do. To make things worse I have been getting horrible headaches again behind my eyes. I feel like i did before I lost my vision. The only way to fix it is to lose weight and take dieretics which would kill my supply. I have beed watching what I eat and there is a gym opening up right across the street so hopefully they will have a daycare I can take evie to play while I workout. I really need to work out. I feel so good when I do. I have let myself go way too long. so tired and so much to do.

So I took Ev to the Dr today just to rule out an ear infection. She is good. I thing she may just be getting another tooth. I also heard that babes can get like this when they are about to reach a milestone. This week Ev has started to roll from her back to her belly and she will "stand" if we hold her hips. I think she is getting ready to crawl. Good god now we have to baby proof the house. Not that our place is big, it is tiny. Thats the problem there is no where to put anything so crap piles up. That is my goal this year to get organized.

sad..

  • Jan. 9th, 2009 at 10:02 AM

This is awful and I really don't know what to do. Everytime I put evie down she just screams and screams. Nap/bed time is awful. I dont know what to do...

Ramblings

  • Jan. 5th, 2009 at 10:46 PM

The past few weeks have been fun. evies first christmas was nice but exausting. We have decided that we will have christmas eve with my family and christmas day with andys. it is just too crazy going back and fourth to four different houses in one day. especially with a munchkin. We spent new years eve at Justins again. we took evie with us and surprisingly she was really good. she even fell asleep in justins room on the floor with minimal freaking out. We got some money from andys parents which was really awesome. We have been usung it to get rid of your credit card dept, we got enough to get rid of about half. Now the trick is to create a budget and stick to it so as not to get us into more debt.

Evie has has a very busy two weeks herself. She has started rolling from her back to her tummy, has had another tooth break through, started saying da da, started clapping, and the cutest thing has started scrunching her nose up when she doesnt like something. This kid loves to eat. We have been exparamenting with new foods that she can mung up. i am convinced that gerber puffs are baby crack. that girl would eat a whole container full if i let her. so far the only whole green veggie she will eat is peas. I have tried steamed green beans, asparugus, and brocoli all of which she will bite a piece off, chew, swallow and then make herself vomit them back up. i dont know why she bothers to chew and swallow them if she desnt like it. oh and he did it with a nectarine yesterday. could it be an allergy? idk but i figured i will try them in a month or two to rule out an immature digestive tract. She did eat some turkey on christmas and some ham lunch meat the other day. Before then she use to throw that up too. now she seems to enjoy it.

nursing is going ok. She now signs milk and dives for my books when she is hungry. I seriously cant get my shirt up fast enough for her. She is still biting, now when she is done. She knows she is being bad too. She will look up at me and very slowly go to latch on and bite me, I yell ouch pull her off and tell her not to bite. She looks at me and laughs, repete 2 more times then I pull her off and don't let her nurse. Then she cries and I am not sure if it is because she is still hungry or that I took it away. sigh but she nurses 5-6 times a day and eats 2 real food meals and has one sippy cup of apple juice so she isn't starving or dehydrated. We started giving her some apple juice every day to help her poopie. Ever since she started on her relux meds she has had an awful time going. She grunts and groans and her face turns bright red, in the end all there is is a small solid lump. well it is late. i have to get the diapees from the dryer and fold them before i go to bed. I just ordered 6 goodmamas, I am so excited to get them and try them. i hope they work. i need to order some snappies as well. we have been having some leaking with our prefolds and covers. I have been using the prefolds as liners, i am going to try some different folds and see if that helps the leaking issues. I have a hard time pinning them b/c evie now likes to swuarm on the changing table. It is hard enough to get a sposie on her let alone to fold an pin her prefolds.

blah

I am so tired and have a migrain. evie has been going to bed then waking up an hour later refusing to go back to sleep. We have tried bottle, nursing, rocking. Nothing works so eventually we end up taking her into the living room. i haven't been able to get any work done b/c that use to be my working time. Andy has been staying with her a few nights but mostly he has been working on the Del Sol. Evie had her second tooth broke through yesterday. She has been biting me alot. I really don't know if it is because of her new tooth or what. the other day she bit me and I yelled. she stopped looked at me then bit me gain, looked at me and I yelled at her again and told her not to bite. She then bit me again. She was testing me to see if that is why I yelled at her. The next day the same thing but this time she cried when I yelled at her. Now she keeps biting me if i am not paying attention to her or if the flow slows or stops. If this continues I will have to stop nursing b/c I am really sore. She is a brat already sigh.....

Evies Dedication

  • Dec. 15th, 2008 at 12:45 PM

So this weekend was a little bit crazy. Andy and I had planned on having evie dedicated at church on the 21st. Well the church messed up and they planned it for this past Sunday. We found out Saturday afternoon. Needless to say we had fun saturday contatcing everyone and letting them know the change. My aunt hadent even started her dress. She was up untill 6am sunday making it. It turned out so beautiful! She used my wedding dress to make Evies Dress. I can't tell you how well it came out. She is considering offering it as a service. I will probably take pics of Evie in it tomorrow. I need to do her christmas photos anyway. we are still having a party for her on Sunday like we originally planned.

teething sucks

  • Dec. 9th, 2008 at 10:15 PM

I am totally exausted. Evie is getting her other bottom center tooth. She has been crying all day and night. It is 10 and she still isn't asleep. I havent had much sucess in nursing her today because she would just clamp down and pull off while screaming in pain. She did this every time she nursed today. That one little tooth of hers hurts! So I have been pumping about every 2-3 hours and getting about 2 oz and the giving her another 2-3 oz of formula b/c she would still be hungry and i dont want her to get dehydrated. I just don't know what to do. I have tried orajel, teething tabs, teething liquid, frozen food cubes in a mesh feeder, teething rings, and frozen bippys, and tylen which seems to work only for an hour or so. Nothing seems to help much. I have a feeling it is going to be a long night and long day tomorrow as well.

We have Evies dedication in 2 weeks. I have no Idea what to say. The pastor suggested we write a letter to Evie and read it in front of the congregation. I really hate public speaking. My aunt is making her christening gown ( well she isn't being baptized but I grew up catholic so thats what I call it) out of my wedding dress. It is going to be so beautiful. I am kinda sad about cutting up my gown but at the same time I can't see it sitting in the bag for the next 50 years. I think this is the best use for it, and it will be a family heirloom. Hopefully Evie will have a daughter and she can wear it too. Evie is getting another tooth, her other front bottom one. She takes it very well but won't let me feel her gums. She will just start to randomly cry I guess b/c it hurts. Poor girly.

Making some headway

  • Dec. 8th, 2008 at 10:32 PM

I can see it! There is a light at the end of the tunnel my list is finally growing shorter. I have one more wedding to edit I will get done this week. I have 2 events in the next 2 weeks. I am bummed b/c I can only find one of my shooting gloves. Do you know how hard it is to find gloves with no fingers? Sigh.... I will have 2 wedding upladed tonight yea!

Yea No formula

  • Dec. 6th, 2008 at 8:57 PM

Yea I have made it through the past couple of days with no fomula. I guess the hormones is what screwed up my supply and well since it was the first time i wasn't expecting it to happen. Toniann and I took Evie to see Santa in Doylestown today. It was cute. She didn't cry just stared at him. i got a few good pics but nothing steller. I had to use my on camera flash, but cute none the less. We met with the pastor last night about Evies dedication. i am very excited. My Aunt is making her dedication gown out of my wedding gown. It is going to be so pretty! I am very excited.

Thought I would share

Evie and I have been breatfeeding now for 7 months! Today I finally got some good nursing shots and just some cute pics of her :) When I was first pregnant I thought I would try to nurse because it was good for her never expecting to get this far. Now I love it and my next goal is 1 year. I think we earned these.

The sweetest thing

  • Dec. 4th, 2008 at 8:48 PM

Tonight Evie fell asleep in my arms while nursing. She has not done that in a long time. I really missed it. I sat there holding her while she slept. That is the best thing in the world, just holding her watching her sleep. I wish she would stay little forever. It is amazing how much I love her and how I can't even imagin my life without her.
